I really like Voddie Baucham. Using the context of the recent John 3:16 conference, he recently posted his personal reflection on the Southern Baptist Convention and Calvinism. For anyone with any interest in Calvinism and the Southern Baptist Convention this is a must read. Baucham also alludes to his views concerning the family and education as flash points in his relationship to the Convention. It may appear to be a lengthy read for a blog post but it is informative.
Read it here.

Hey Jonny, thanks for posting this. I like Voddie too.
I think the SBC is looking for a whipping boy – [Calvinists], for why their numbers are down (baptisms and members). The answer is – we all need to work together for the gory of God. We Calvinists just don’t care about padding our numbers, because for us – it is all about God’s glory, and not about competing with one another. It is all about obeying God and not just looking good on paper.
Those old guys – [Vines and Patterson] are going to hoot and holler until they divide the the whole SBC. They have already lost the young great preachers of today. Heck, their man-centered theology looks pitiful up against the God-centered theology we all have been exposed to through the likes of Baucham, Giglio, Piper, and Mahaney.
