The Massachussetts Institute of Technology has put its courses on-line for anyone to take for free. Others are doing the same. Granted, you do not get credit for the courses, there is no access to the faculty and materials, and therefore, you do not necessarily have access to the entirety of the content of the course. Yet, one does have to wonder what kind of impact such access to education will have over the coming years and around the world. You would think this will help to advance the education of the “common” person and help the cause of education in developing countries. What would happen if seminaries, Bible colleges, and Christian colleges began to do the same thing? Might the local church benefit from such resources and the Body of Christ be strengthened?
